“How Can I Be Powerless Over Myself?”

Our ways are different than God’s way. We are governed by our pride and at times are powerless over it. We want things that will please our bodies and make our lives pleasant. We want the things of the world. This is our human nature, it’s the way our minds work.

We lost the spiritual ways of God and God’s image when Adam and Eve sinned, or in other words gave into pride. They disobeyed God and lost their spiritual connection to Him. You know yourself better than anybody, but Jesus knows you better than you do. What causes us not to yield our lives with Jesus Christ? Being powerless over our “PRIDE”. (more…)

Everything about the greatest nation in the world was perfect. So, what happened?

What happened to this country? We were once the greatest nation in the world. Now, we’re on the verge of bankruptcy. It wouldn’t take much to cause a financial collapse. We could even become a third world country by the way we’re heading.

This country has it all. Good soil to grow just about any crop you want to plant. Our land is full of precious minerals that we could mine. Everything about this country was perfect. So, what happened? Why have we become so dependent on other countries for the things we have right here in our own backyard? Why do we import everything these days? (more…)

Since when did God give us the right to decide whether a baby lives or dies? From what I can tell, scripture repeatedly states that God forms us while we are in the womb.

When Adam and Eve sinned, their carnal eyes opened. Sin had caused them to lose that spiritual bond they had with God. When they were living a spiritual life, death had no hold on them. It wasn’t until they sinned that death would come upon them.

Definition of equanimity: Mental composure or calmness; evenness of temper. Peace, what a wonderful thing. Everyone of us wants tranquility. For instance, like when we stop and gaze at the beautiful scenery. For the time being, it removes all our stress, our troubles, it empties us of the things that cause us to be busy inside ourselves.

Every moment of every day we are usually thinking about something. But what we’re going to talk about here is the thoughts that cause us to feel pain or pleasure from humiliation or honor. This is a form of pride. We feel the pain of pride when things don’t go our way or when people say or do things that we don’t like. (more…)

Pride Gives Birth To Sin and Humility Makes Us Humble

Luke 2:7 And she gave birth to a son, her first-born. She wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger because there was no room for them at the inn. This is a true act of humility. God could have provided all the comforts of home for Joseph, Mary and Jesus, but He didn’t.

Reason: God had to show the world that He loves us just as much as He loves His son. Also, Jesus wouldn’t be able to preach and teach about humility, if God didn’t practice it Himself. By this act, God showed us that He didn’t place His son above all of us. (more…)
