Jesus Conquered the World – We Can Too
Conquered the World
Jesus was telling His disciples about what was coming up soon. He was trying to reassure them that He would be coming back to them after His death.
Jesus says to His disciples in John 16:33, ‘ I have told you all this so that you may find peace in Me. In the world you will have trouble, but be brave: I have conquered the world.’
The peace that Jesus is talking about comes from within, but can only happen if you follow Him. Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life’. Jesus will bring us to that inner peace by helping us to conquer the world and ourselves. It will take a lot of work and sacrifices on our part.
Our Negative Nature
We have this negative nature that likes to stir up trouble in our minds and emotions. We see them as, pleasures and desires, worries, fears and doubts and they can cause us stress, self-pity, despair and depression. These things happen because of our lack of faith and trust in God.
Only by picking up our cross daily and following Jesus will we be able to do what is necessary to leave the flesh behind and start walking in the spirit. Jesus knows our weaknesses and He will be able to help us overcome our sinful nature.
We Shouldn’t Be Ruling Our Own Life
Nothing good like everlasting, true happiness, peace and joy could ever come from us. Man keeps trying, but he hasn’t been successful yet and never will be because man has a wicked and evil heart. Man needs to humble himself and surrender himself to God. He needs to give up trying to govern his life on his own because in the end, it will have accomplished nothing but emptiness.
Back in the beginning, Adam and Eve lost their connection to God by disobeying Him, they lost the Holy Spirit. God had no choice but to ban them from the garden of Eden so they wouldn’t eat from the tree of life and live forever. God didn’t want man to live forever in sin.
Jesus is Sent by God to Bring us the Good News
Jesus was born to Mary and Joseph and when He grew up to about 30 years old He started His ministry. He did a lot in the 3 years of His ministry before His death, resurrection and ascension into heaven. He healed people, went from town to town teaching about the Kingdom of God, and what we need to do to enter the into God’s Kingdom.
Jesus was teaching about how to find true peace, not the peace that man thinks he can find and establish. Also, about how to conquer the world spiritually by picking up our cross daily and following Him. We can’t do this on our own, we need God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in order to overcome our human nature and this passing world.
After we give our life over to God and believe that Jesus died on the cross for us, we will find trouble in the world like Jesus warns us. We do not need to worry about this because as long as we trust in Jesus, He will be there for us and He will show us the way to conquer the world spiritually as He did.
Jesus is the Truth
We will need to seek the truth in Jesus because it’s one thing to know truth, but to understand truth, it takes experience. This is so true because there are a lot of scriptures that need to be experienced before you can truly understand them. If we want to experience truth, we are going to have to rely on Jesus to bring us to truth.
Nothing Can Hide From God
Hebrews 4:12-13, The Word of God is something alive and active: it cuts like any double-edged sword but more finely: it can slip through the place where the soul is divided from the spirit, or joints from the marrow; it can judge the secret emotions and thoughts. No created thing can hide from Him; everything is uncovered and open to the eyes of the one to whom we must give account of ourselves.
We can learn many things from the Word of God like, truth, wisdom, knowledge, love, humility and so on. We can learn how to overcome our wicked and evil nature and be able to love without hate and want nothing more than to please God. Pray to God to bring you to repentance.
Jesus Knows Our Weaknesses
Hebrews 4:14-16, Since in Jesus, the Son of God, we have the supreme High Priest who has gone through to the highest heaven, we must never let go of the faith that we have professed.
For it is not as if we had a high priest who was incapable of feeling our weaknesses with us; but we have one who has been tempted in every way that we are, though He is without sin.
Let us be confident, then, in approaching the throne of grace, that we shall have mercy from Him and find grace when we are in need of help.
Jesus has compassion for us, He knows all the pain and suffering that we go through. He lived here on earth for 33 years. God’s grace will give us the strength we need to make it through all our pains and sufferings, we need to have faith and trust in Him that He will take care of us.
Jesus Won an Eternal Redemption for Us
Hebrews 9:11-12, But now Christ has come, as the High Priest of all blessings which were to come. He has passed through the greater, the more perfect tent, which is better than the one made by men’s hands because it is not of this created order.
And He has entered the sanctuary once and for all, taking with Him not the blood of goats and bull calves, but His own blood, having won an eternal redemption for us.
Jesus died for us as He gave His life as a blood sacrifice so that our sins may be forgiven and we can find redemption in Him. We should take advantage of this and appreciate what God and Jesus has done for us. You can reject this and when you die, according to the the Word of God, you will find yourself in the Lake of Fire for eternity.
Believe God’s Good News
1 Peter 4:17, The time has come for the judgement to begin at the household of God; and if what we know now is only the beginning, what will it be when it comes down to those who refuse to believe God’s Good News?
When you die you will be judged on how you lived your life. If your name is not found in the book of Life, you will be thrown into the Lake of Fire. Ask yourself “What’s it going to be, life or death?”
Love One Another
Matthew 25:40, And the King (Jesus) will answer, ‘I tell you solemnly, in so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me.’
When you show love to one another you also show it to Jesus. Jesus teaches us to ‘Love One Another’ as He has loved us. He gave us a new commandment: ‘Love one another as I have loved you’.
Divine Love of God
In the beginning Adam was made in the image of God and that image is Love, the uncreated Divine Love of God. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, they lost the Holy Spirit and gained the knowledge of good and evil. They also gained human emotions like created love and hate.
Jesus conquered the world so that He could be there for us and show us how to overcome the flesh and reconnect to God so that we can walk in the spirit and walk no more in the flesh. God will remove the created Love and Hate emotions and replace it with His uncreated Divine Love.
Jesus Returns to Rule the New World
If only the people of this world would seek God and also want to exchange their love and hate for the Divine Love of God, this world would be perfect. Someday it will be that way when Jesus returns to establish the New Government of God. Jesus will be King and He rule with an iron scepter.
May God Bless You with Hid Divine Love and Grace
