The Virtuous and the Scoffers

Wisdom 3:1-5, ‘But the souls of the virtuous are in the hands of God, no torment shall ever touch them. In the eyes of the unwise, they did appear to die, their going looked like a disaster, their leaving us, like annihilation; but they are in peace.

If they experienced punishment as men see it, their hope was rich with immortality; slight was their affliction, great will their blessings be. God has put them to the test and proved them worthy to be with Him.’

The virtuous are sons of God and He will protect them. God will shield them from the evil ones and they will be blessed with peace. These virtuous ones, sons of God, overcame their sins like, pleasures and desires of the flesh, and temptations.

A part of belonging to God is going through tests and trials from time to time. Growing strong in faith, humility and love just to name a few are virtues we need to help us overcome ourselves and draw nearer to God. God loves and trusts those that are obedient to Him.

The Chosen to Rule Over People and Nations with Jesus our King

Wisdom 3:7-9, When the time comes for His visitation they will shine out; as sparks run through the stubble, so will they. They shall judge nations, rule over peoples, and the Lord will be their King forever.

They who trust in Him will understand the truth, those who are faithful will live with Him in love; for grace and mercy await those He has chosen. The chosen ones that are mentioned are those that God can trust not to fail Him. They have proved themselves by being tested by God. They keep His commandments

These are the ones who will help Jesus set up a new government that will rule over all nations at the end time and forever more. This will be when Jesus returns the second time to get His bride.

Great White Throne Judgement

Wisdom 3:10, ‘But the godless will be duly punished for their reasoning, for neglecting the virtuous man and deserting the Lord.’

I have seen virtuous, God loving people neglected and shunned by their own church people and even the pastor. This is what Jesus said; Luke 4:24, And He went on, ‘I tell you solemnly, no prophet is ever accepted in his own country (town, city, home, community, etc.). A Prophet could also be a teacher of God’s word, one who has been taught by God, Jesus and the Holy spirit.

Scornful People

Wisdom 3:11-12, ‘Yes, wretched are they who scorn wisdom and discipline: their hope is void, their toil unavailing, their achievements unprofitable; their wives are reckless, their children depraved, their descendants accursed.’

A scornful person is one whose pride rules their heart. They walk in the darkness and not in the light. They are usually anti-God and anti-Christ. They don’t seek wisdom or truth and so, they travel the road to perdition. The consequences of being scornful is you end up driving yourself further away from God.

Proverbs 1:22, ‘You ignorant people, how much longer will you cling to your ignorance? How much longer will mockers revel in their mocking and fools hold knowledge contemptible?

Psalm 1:1, Happy the man who never follows the advice of the wicked, or loiters on the way that sinners take or sits about with scoffers.

Psalm 1:6, For Yahweh takes, care of the way the virtuous go, but the way of the wicked is doomed.

As you can see what is written in scripture about being scornful and/or a scoffer that their life is dark and wicked. They carry a lot of hate in their heart towards those that are trying to live a life loving one a another and working toward pleasing God.

The Book of Life – Is Your Name In It

Wisdom 4:19, ‘Soon they will be corpes without honor, objects of scorn among the dead forever. The Lord will dash them down headlong, dumb. He will tear them from their foundations, they will be utterly laid waste, anguish will be theirs, and their memory shall perish.’

Life is short, it’s like a puff of smoke in the wind, it vanishes quickly and once you die, it’s over. There is no way to repent or confess your sins or call on Jesus to save you. When you’re standing there at the great white throne judgement there will be the book of life and others books.

You will be judged by how you lived your life. Revelation 20:15, And anybody whose name could not be found written in the book of life was thrown into the burning lake. Will your name be found in the book of life?

Reading on there is testimony of the wicked and scornful people that never gave up their pride for humility. Their eyes opened when they see the crimes of their wickedness brought against them at the last judgement.

The Eyes of the Wicked and Scornful People are Opened

Wisdom 4:20, ‘They will come trembling to the reckoning of their sins, and their crimes, confronting them, will accuse them.’

Wisdom 5:1-9 ‘Then the virtuous man stands up boldly to face those who have oppressed him, those who thought so little of his sufferings.

And they, at the site of him, will shake with cowards’ fear, amazed he should be saved so unexpectedly. Stricken with remorse, each will say to the other, say with a groan and in distress of spirit:

‘This is the man we used to laugh at once, a butt for our sarcasm, fools that we were! His life we regarded as madness, his ending as without honor. How has he come to be counted as one of the sons of God? How does he come to be assigned a place among the saints?

Clearly we have strayed from the way of Truth; the light of justice has not shone for us, the sun never rose on us. We have left no path of lawlessness or ruin unexplored, we have crossed deserts where there was no track, but the way of the Lord is one we have never known.

Arrogance, what advantage has this brought us? Wealth and boasting, what have these conferred on us? All those things have passed like a shadow, passed like a fleeting rumor.’

Stop Rebelling Against God

Wisdom 5:14, Yes, the hope of the godless is like chaff carried on the wind, like fine spray driven by the gale; it disperses like smoke before the wind, goes like the memory of a one-day guest.

This will be the future for many that have died and that are going to die because they refused to stop rebelling against God. Also by refusing to accept His blessed Son Jesus Christ whose life was sacrificed for us so that we may be forgiven of our sins. The second death awaits them.

Wisdom 5:15, But the virtuous live for ever, their recompense lies with the Lord, the Most High takes care of them. So they shall receive the royal crown of splendor, the diadem of beauty from the hand of the Lord; for He will shelter them with His right hand and shield them with His arm.

The virtuous ones will be rewarded with ever lasting eternal life. To be with God and Jesus Christ for eternity will be awesome beyond words.

The Wicked and the Evil-Doers Will be Destroyed

Wisdom 5:23, The breath of Omnipotence will blow against them and winnow them like a hurricane. So lawlessness will bring the whole earth to ruin and evil-doing bring the thrones of the mighty down.

According to scripture, in the end times there will be much lawlessness in the world. People will become lovers of them selves and so on. God is our only security in this world. We need Him to make it through whatever troubles come our way.

The Virtuous Man Should Have No Fear

These scriptures describe the difference between the godless man and the virtuous man. The virtuous man has nothing to fear from the attacks of the godless men of the world because the father of the godless men is Satan.

As long as we have God our Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in our life, we have nothing to fear. We are totally protected and armed with Faith, Truth and Love. God also shelters us from evil. Never have any worries, fears, or doubts, they can harm your faith and trust in the Lord.

There is a lot of end time revelation in these scriptures. Again, time is short, call on Jesus to come into your life. When it’s too late, it’s too late!

God Bless You!
