  Keep Your Faith Alive
Posted by: Lighthouse - 09-21-2024, 08:19 PM - Forum: Bible Scripture - No Replies

Keep Your Faith Alive By Not Falling Into Despair

Proverbs 24:10, 'If you lose heart, when adversity comes your strength will only be weakness. Empty your hearts of worries, fears and doubts by placing your hope in God or despair will plague you. Trust God with your life, He can help you through your tough times, but it does take faith. Faith builds our strength, strength to endure anything that this world can throw at us.

God doesn't want you to wimp out, that is why He will be there for you. Call on Jesus and let Him show you the way, He will help you build your faith and empty your heart of the very things that kill faith. We are going to need all the help we can get, don\'t wait until the last minute. Faith takes time to build. God Bless You

Trust in God and Trust Jesus
Posted by: Lighthouse - 09-21-2024, 07:53 PM - Forum: God - No Replies

'John 14:1, 'Do not let your hearts be troubled, Trust in God still and trust in Me - Jesus.' We can trouble our hearts in many ways like hardships for one. If we say that we trust God and Jesus yet we still worry or fear for the worst, then we do not trust God or Jesus.

Let's show God and Jesus that we have faith in them to help us through any hardship, test, trial or any burden that may come our way. Be positive, that is what God and Jesus want us to be. Being negative only drags us down and causes us to suffer. Be strong in your faith and trust for God and Jesus and they will always be there for you. God Bless You.

What is Truth? - Put your trust in God and fear no more.

  Find Our Character Defects
Posted by: JCPNJ - 09-21-2024, 06:33 PM - Forum: God - No Replies

Do You Like To Be Reproved and Corrected?

The Bible is a great tool for finding out what our character defects are. The Word of God is written in this book to help us save ourselves from eternal damnation. That is why God gave us these instructions, not to hurt us, but to help us because He loves us and He only wants the best for us.

He gave us free will to chose our own destiny and God knows that we are up against the strong forces of evil. He sent His Son Jesus to help and guide us back to God so that we may have life and not spiritual death. We have this tendency to deceive ourselves into thinking that we are good people without ever truly looking inward at ourselves.

Hebrews 4:12, 'For the Word of God is quick, and powerful and sharper that any two-edged sword and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.' The flesh is corrupt in its own way, it wants what the world has to offer and is quick to rebel against God. Many people take what the Bible says and interprets it to mean what they want it to say or they avoid it all together because they know that it will reprove their lifestyle.

If only people would realize that the Word of God will lead us to true happiness, peace, joy and total freedom from the bondages of this world, not false or temporary happiness that the things of this world offer us. Find a better life for now and forever in the Word of God. Call on His blessed Son Jesus Christ to help and guide you. God Bless You

  Love Your Enemies
Posted by: JCPNJ - 09-21-2024, 03:37 PM - Forum: Jesus Christ - Replies (1)

Who are your enemies?

They are anyone who disrupts that inner peace that dwells within you. In the Bible it says if you love someone and they love you back, what reward is there in that? It goes on to say to love your enemies and by doing so you will reap hot coals on their head.

Love can conquer all, even your enemies. Love can also help someone to recognize the emptiness and loneliness that dwells within them. Anyone that loves their enemies will benefit greatly from this. They will be able to control their emotions to the point where one's enemies cannot harm them. Why engage in war with another, why not love them and keep that inner peace that we all so desire?

  Seek God For Protection

'When Your Enemies Surround You, Seek God For Protection'

'Everyday we face our enemies, some may invade our thoughts and cause us to make bad choices. Others may come in the form of what people do that affect us emotionally. Then there are those things that seem to go wrong for us. We have a choice to make when these things invade us and try to cause us unrest, or disrupt the calmness that we try to keep within us.

When we are attacked by our enemies, we can make a choice whether to react back in a hostile way, let it cause us emotional pain or throw our thought process out of whack. We can fight back by turning our enemies over to God and seeking His protection from them. Don't let your enemies get the best of you, the faster you fight them, the less chance that they can get a foothold on you and make things worse.

What are some ways that you use to fight back?'

  Humility vs. Pride
Posted by: HaveFaith - 09-21-2024, 03:38 AM - Forum: God - Replies (1)

Humility feeds the soul and pride feeds the flesh. The flesh is corrupt and it will always be corrupt. That is why God allowed death, so that we don't live in sin forever. God originally created us as a living soul to live forever. But when Adam and Eve sinned, they brought death with them.

Thank God for Jesus Christ because He will prepare us and lead us back to God (if we let Him) to live forever. Once this flesh dies, our soul will be set free from this corrupt flesh body. We need to overcome the flesh and practice humility. God Bless You

Give Up Your Old Way of Life

Give Up Your Old Way of Life - Don't Wait Until It's Too Late

Ephesians 4:17-19, "In particular, I want to urge you in the name of the Lord, not to go on living the aimless kind of life that pagans live. Intellectually they are in the dark, and they are estranged from the life of God, without knowledge because they have shut their hearts to it. Their sense of right and wrong once dulled, they have abandoned themselves to sexuality and eagerly pursue a career of indecency of every kind."

Does this look like the path that many in the United States and England has taken? Does it surprise you as to why these two nations are in such terrible shape? It's amazing as to how much patience God has, but if you look, you can see how He has been withdrawing His blessings and we are becoming a mockery to the other nations of the world.

The economy is in the dumps, the governments are lacking any kind of good leaders, violence is rampant and growing at a rapid pace, people are not respecting the law and so on.

You can avoid all this by living the life that God wants us to. Who in this world can possibly protect you? or help you with your needs? God can where man cannot. There is no one more powerful than God or anyone that you can truly trust. You can find all this out by seeking the Truth. Jesus is the way back to God, He is truth and life. All it takes is your desire to do what it says in the next set of scriptures.

Ephesians 4:22-24, "You must give up your old way of life; you must put aside your old self, which gets corrupted by following illusory desires. Your mind must be renewed by a spiritual revolution so that you can put on the new self that has been created in God's way, in the goodness and holiness of the Truth."

  Do You Find Yourself Worrying?
Posted by: Jeremiah17:7 - 09-18-2024, 02:26 AM - Forum: Bible Scripture - Replies (1)

Do You Find Yourself Worrying? or Fear the Unknown? - Does the News Scare You?

Jeremiah 17: 7-8, 'A blessing on the man who puts his trust in God, with God for his hope. He is like a tree by the waterside that thrusts its roots to the stream: when the heat comes it feels no alarm, its foliage stays green; it has no worries in a year of drought, and never ceases to bear fruit.'

When trouble comes your way, or a hardship, or maybe things are looking gloom, do you start to worry, or does fear set in? There really is no need to experience these negative emotions if you put your trust in God. Your thoughts are the cause of your fear and/or worries. Have faith in God and let your thoughts be positive ones so that you can keep moving forward and be happy.

No sense in making up the unknown because all you do is drive yourself downward. These negative thoughts and emotions are the driving force behind depression, despair and desperation. This darkness can disrupt your life and it can also affect the ones you love as well and not to mention others that may be around you.

Next time, think positive and put your trust, hope and faith in God. He wants to trade with you, you give Him your troubles and He will give you happiness and true freedom from the burdens of this world.

  Be In Union With God
Posted by: SandraP - 09-18-2024, 02:12 AM - Forum: Bible Scripture - Replies (1)

Hebrews 8: 10-12, "God said: 'I will put my laws into their minds and write them on their hearts. Then I will be their God and they shall be my people. There will be no further need for neighbor to try to teach neighbor, or brother to say to brother 'Learn to know the Lord'. No, they will all know me, the least no less than the greatest, since I will forgive their iniquities and never call their sins to mind.' "

This is the new covenant which was created through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ so our sins may be forgiven and not just covered up.

Everyone knows the difference between right and wrong, either their heart or conscience will tell them. We have many choices to make on a daily basis. These choices include what we think about, how we behave and how we treat others.

Even though our thoughts may seem private to us, they will also be laid out on judgment day just as the things we did will be. It's important for us to think of positive things, to behave as God would like us to and to treat others with love, kindness and care.

Let's just try and live in Peace with one another and "Love One Another" as God and Jesus speak about.

So, why live the worldly life?
Posted by: Cliff57 - 09-18-2024, 02:02 AM - Forum: Bible Scripture - No Replies

Hebrews 3: 12, "Take care, brothers, that there is not in any one of your community a wicked mind, so unbelieving as to turn away from the living God."

The author of Hebrews (believed to be Paul), told this to the people at that time as a warning of what will happen to those that reject or turn away from God. The author was referring to what God had said to the Hebrews after the exodus as it is written in Psalm 95: 10-11, 'For forty years that generation repelled me, until I said: How unreliable these people who refuse to grasp my ways! And so, in anger, I swore that not one would reach the place of rest I had for them.'

There isn't anything that can be added to that, God speaks very clearly about what happens to man that refuses to accept Him and His ways. It isn't that He is forcing us to, He is trying to help us from destroying ourselves. We lead our own selves to our fate, but if we choose to accept God and love Him as He loves us, we will be saved from eternal damnation.

We are living in the best time, we have Jesus to help lead us back to God. The people that lived before Christ didn't have the opportunity that we have. What a beautiful gift God gave us, a way out of our own darkness, a way to know truth, a way to receive the Holy Spirit forever, a way back to God and be in union with Him forever right here and now!

So, why live the worldly life that is so short and can only bring death? Jesus is the way to eternal life, joy, happiness, peace and total freedom from the bondages of this passing world. God gave us free will to choose, so, what's it going to be?
