What The Word Fruits Mean In The Bible
Posted by: WalterH75 - 10-19-2024, 10:30 PM - Forum: Bible Scripture - Replies (2)

These are the bad fruits that are listed in Galatians 5:19-21, 'When self-indulgence is at work the results are obvious: fornication, gross indecency and sexual irresponsibility; idolatry and sorcery; feuds and wrangling; jealousy, bad temper and quarrels; disagreements, factions, envy; drunkenness, orgies and similar things.

I warn you now, as I warned you before: those that behave like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.' These are the fruits that keep us disconnected from God. This is what caused the fall of Adam and Eve, not eating an apple.

These are the Good Fruits that we need to acquire in order to make that union with God: Galatians 5:22, 'What the Spirit brings is very different: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness, gentleness and self-control. Take on the Good Fruits and you will find true peace, happiness, joy and freedom from the bondages of this world.'

God Bless You

Why People Don't Believe In God
Posted by: WalterH75 - 10-19-2024, 10:18 PM - Forum: God - No Replies

Hebrews 11:1 - 'Only faith can guarantee the blessings that we hope for, or prove the existence of the realities that at present remain unseen.'

It is so much easier to say that God doesn't exist than it is to prove it. Anyone that truly set out to prove that God doesn't exist, found out that He does. It takes your heart and a sincere desire to get to know Him before He will reveal Himself to anyone.

Any doubts that are in one's heart will kill faith. Yes, it does take work and patience, this is what faith is all about. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. Many people give up to soon because their faith is too weak. If anyone wants to get to know God, do it with heart that is free from doubts. Go ahead, try to prove that He doesn't exist.

God Bless You

  How God Can Protect Us
Posted by: WalterH75 - 10-19-2024, 10:09 PM - Forum: God - No Replies

Psalm 18: 30, 'This God, His way is blameless; The Word of God is without dross. He it is who is the shield of all who take shelter (trust) in Him. By following the way of God, you will overcome the things that cause you to sin.

The way and the Word of God is Jesus Christ. For He is the Way, the Truth, and Life. Jesus will help us to overcome our flesh and our soul will be tried in the fire and the dross burned off. When we put our trust and faith in God, He will shelter (protect) us from our enemies.

God Bless You

Why Do We Let People and Material Things Control Our Emotions?
Posted by: WalterH75 - 10-19-2024, 07:50 PM - Forum: Christian Life - No Replies

Whether we are driving, standing in line at the store, at work, out to eat, and so on, we have a tendency to let our environment control our emotions. We would all like to be able to go through each day calm, happy and at peace within ourselves wouldn't we?

Don't let others or the things that this world throws at you bother you. Think positive and make the best out of every situation. It does take practice, but in time it does get easier. Time", everything passes in time, yet we tend to give some of these things that bother us more time by dwelling on the negative side of them instead of just either making peace with them or simply just letting them go. Get rid of them as soon as possible, they have no value whatsoever.

If you have trouble letting these things go or don't know how to change your thought process so that you only think positive, then call on Jesus. He's a great teacher. He will gladly show you how to calm the turbulent ocean that has made waves inside you. He will show you how to practice equanimity.

May God Bless You Always.

  A Warning From God
Posted by: WalterH75 - 10-19-2024, 07:42 PM - Forum: God - No Replies

With all that is happening in the United States and England, you would think that these nations would wake up and turn back to God. But somehow they can't see the disaster that is lurking. How much longer do you think the United States can continue to survive with the massive amount of debt that it owes?

Here's what God has to say to the rebellious nations: Proverbs 1:23-33, 'Pay attention to my warning: now I will pour out my heart to you, and tell you what I have to say. Since I have called and you have refused me, since I have beckoned and no one has taken notice, since you have ignored all my advice and rejected all my warnings, I, for my part, will laugh at your distress, I will jeer at you when calamity comes, when calamity bears down on you like a storm and your distress like a whirlwind, when disaster and anguish bear down on you.

Then they shall call to me, but I will not answer, they shall seek me eagerly and shall not find me. They despised knowledge, they had no love for the fear of God, they would take no advice from me, and spurned all my warnings: so they must eat the fruits of their own courses, and choke themselves with their own scheming. For the errors of the ignorant lead to their death, and the complacency of fools works their own ruin; but whoever listens to me may live secure, he will have quiet, fearing no mischance. The warnings that God is talking about are in Deuteronomy 28, you can't miss it. Find security with God before it's too late.

God Bless You!

What Does The Word "Drunkenness" Mean In The Bible?
Posted by: SandraP - 10-19-2024, 07:16 PM - Forum: Christian Life - No Replies

The word "Drunkenness" doesn't necessarily mean to be intoxicated with alcohol. It means along the same lines as gluttony. To have more than you need, self-indulgence to excess, overcome with. Like, filling our hearts to the point of overflowing with the things of the world.

Luke 21:34 - 'Watch yourselves, or your hearts will be coarsened with debauchery (excessive sensual indulgence) and drunkenness and the cares of life.

Are You Ready For The Return Of Jesus?
Posted by: SandraP - 10-19-2024, 07:06 PM - Forum: Jesus Christ - Replies (1)

There is no telling who will be alive during the worst of times that are rapidly approaching. If you are alive during these times, are you going to be prepared? If your next breath was going to be your last, are you prepared to stand before God?

Jesus is going to return like a thief in the night. No one will know when, but you can be prepared for His coming. It just doesn't mean at the end of this age, it could be tomorrow or even today. No one knows, that's why we need to prepare ourselves for the inevitable. Seek Jesus Christ and He will show you the way.

What have you done to prepare for the coming of Jesus Christ? How strong is your faith?

Why Do We Attach Ourselves To A Passing World?
Posted by: SandraP - 10-19-2024, 06:49 PM - Forum: Christian Life - No Replies

What is so valuable in this world that we have to attach our hearts to and possibly lose our souls in the process? The things of this world and what they bring like, happiness, joy, excitement, security and so on are only temporary. Think about it, when something makes you happy, how long does it last? Not long does it.

God, unlike the world can give us true peace and happiness, along with freedom from the bondages of this world that will last forever. What are your hearts attached to? Why not attach your heart to God and receive the wonderful gifts and blessings He has waiting for you?

May God Bless You

  Taking God's Name In Vain
Posted by: Matthew245 - 10-19-2024, 06:39 PM - Forum: God - No Replies

Some people tend to think that taking God's name in vain means attaching a word like "damn" to the end, by all means it isn't pleasant, it's disrespectful to God.

Taking God's name in vain means using His name for empty causes like trying to get people to convert to their religion or beliefs by means of hate and/or violence, provocation and any other means that God regards as sinful. Granted that God made the commandment not to use His name in vain long before Christianity started, but Christianity is directly associated with God.

Many Christians break this commandment in many ways. They go around calling themselves Christians, yet they don't act like one. This in turn makes God look bad along with the whole Christian religion. Be careful what you sow, it's not a good idea to anger God.

Be Faithful, Don't Fall Into Despair
Posted by: Matthew245 - 10-19-2024, 06:20 PM - Forum: Bible Scripture - No Replies

'Proverbs 24:10, 'If you lose heart, when adversity comes your strength will only be weakness'.

Empty your hearts of worries, fears and doubts by placing your hope in God or despair will plague you. Trust God with your life, He can help you through your tough times, but it does take faith. Faith builds our strength, strength to endure anything that this world can throw at us.

God doesn't want you to wimp out, that is why He will be there for you. Call on Jesus and let Him show you the way, He will help you build your faith and empty your heart of the very things that kill faith.

We are going to need all the help we can get, don't wait until the last minute. Faith takes time to build.

God Bless You
