Trust in God - Not Man or Yourself
Posted by: HaveFaith - 03-07-2025, 12:00 AM - Forum: God - No Replies

In the Bible there are scriptures that warn us about putting our trust in man or even ourselves: Proverbs 28:26, He who trusts in his own promptings is a fool, he whose ways are wise will be safe.

Jeremiah 17:5, 'A curse on the man who puts his trust in man, who relies on things of the flesh, whose heart turns from God.

II Corinthians 1:9, Yes, we were carrying our own death warrant with us, and it has taught us not to rely on ourselves but only on God.

If we follow or trust in man or our own selves, We will surely die if we depend on our own precepts or follow and trust in man.

Follow in God's ways and you will find peace, happiness, joy and freedom from the bondages of this passing world.

May God Be With You Always

  The Cleansing of the Temple
Posted by: HaveFaith - 03-06-2025, 11:47 PM - Forum: Holy Spirit - No Replies

When Jesus saw the corruption that was going on in the temple of God, He went about ridding the sanctuary of all those people who were committing sins against God. (John 2:13-17)

Our bodies are temples because they house our soul. By human nature, we corrupt our souls with all kinds sins that are abominations in the eyes of God. We need Jesus Christ to teach us what we need to do to cleanse our temples (Read Galatians 5:19-23).

Once we do this, we can receive the Holy Spirit which will connect us to God. We can't be unholy and holy at the same time, it's one or the other. Call on Jesus and let Him show you the Way.

Forgive and You Will Be Forgiven
Posted by: HaveFaith - 03-06-2025, 11:38 PM - Forum: God - No Replies

Matthew 6:14,15, 'Yes, if you forgive others their failings, your heavenly Father will forgive you yours; but if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive your failings either.'

No one is "Perfect". People are going to hurt one another in one form or another whether it be intentional or unintentional. We all have done something to another individual that if we really didn't mean it, we should be forgiven for that act from the individual that we harmed. But, what if we did mean it? Should we be forgiven for that as well?

Of course, as long as we try to make amends to that individual with a sincere heart, we will be forgiven even if the one we harmed still holds a resentment towards us. Remember though, as long as we have forgiven others for what they have done to us, we will also be forgiven.

It can be very difficult to forgive some people for what they have done to us, or to the ones that we love, or we can take to even a broader sense and include the people that we hate like, a nation, a race or a specific group of people.

If the individual(s) have passed on and you want to ask for forgiveness, speak to God with a contrite heart and you will be forgiven. God reads what's in the heart. The faster you seek forgiveness or give forgiveness to another, the more peaceful you will be inside. No resentments to make you angry and no guilt to burden you with.

This is a part of what God's pure love is all about. This is how we grow spiritually and prepare ourselves for the Kingdom of God.

When It's Too Late, It's Too Late!

Ephesians 4:17-19, 'In particular, I want to urge you in the name of the Lord, not to go on living the aimless kind of life that pagans live. Intellectually they are in the dark, and they are estranged from the life of God, without knowledge because they have shut their hearts to it. Their sense of right and wrong once dulled, they have abandoned themselves to sexuality and eagerly pursue a career of indecency of every kind.'

Does this look like the path that many in the United States and England has taken? Does it surprise you as to why these two nations are in such terrible shape? It's amazing as to how much patience God has, but if you look, you can see how He has been withdrawing His blessings and we are becoming a mockery to the other nations of the world.

The economy is in the dumps, the governments are lacking any kind of good leaders, violence is rampant and growing at a rapid pace, people are not respecting the law and so on.

You can avoid all this by living the life that God wants us to. Who in this world can possibly protect you? or help you with your needs? God can where man cannot. There is no one more powerful than God or anyone that you can truely trust. You can find all this out by seeking the Truth. Jesus is the way back to God, He is truth and life. All it takes is your desire to do what it says in the next set of scriptures.

Ephesians 4:22-24, 'You must give up your old way of life; you must put aside your old self, which gets corrupted by following illusory desires. Your mind must be renewed by a spiritual revolution so that you can put on the new self that has been created in God's way, in the goodness and holiness of the Truth.'

Don't wait until it's too late.

We All Know The Difference Between Right and Wrong
Posted by: ThomasLa - 03-05-2025, 04:13 AM - Forum: God - No Replies

Hebrews 8: 10-12, 'God said: 'I will put my laws into their minds and write them on their hearts. Then I will be their God and they shall be my people. There will be no further need for neighbor to try to teach neighbor, or brother to say to brother 'Learn to know the Lord'. No, they will all know me, the least no less than the greatest, since I will forgive their iniquities and never call their sins to mind.'

This is the new covenant which was created through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ so our sins may be forgiven and not just covered up.

Everyone knows the difference between right and wrong, either their heart or conscience will tell them. We have many choices to make on a daily basis. These choices include what we think about, how we behave and how we treat others.

Even though our thoughts may seem private to us, they will also be laid out on judgment day just as the things we did will be. It's important for us to think of positive things, to behave as God would like us to and to treat others with love, kindness and care.

'Learn to know the Lord' - Jesus is the one true High Priest that we have to build a relationship with in order learn Truth. He will teach us how to become righteous in the eyes of God so that we can be in union with Him once again.

Let's just try and live in Peace with one another and 'Love One Another' as God and Jesus speak about.

May God Bless You

Hebrews 3: 12, 'Take care, brothers, that there is not in any one of your community a wicked mind, so unbelieving as to turn away from the living God.'

The author of Hebrews (believed to be Paul), told this to the people at that time as a warning of what will happen to those that reject or turn away from God. The author was referring to what God had said to the Hebrews after the Exodus as it is written in Psalm 95: 10-11, 'For forty years that generation repelled me, until I said: How unreliable these people who refuse to grasp my ways! And so, in anger, I swore that not one would reach the place of rest I had for them.'

There isn't anything that can be added to that, God speaks very clearly about what happens to man that refuses to accept Him and His ways. It isn't that He is forcing us to, He is trying to help us from destroying ourselves. We lead our own selves to our fate, but if we choose to accept God and love Him as He loves us, we will be saved from eternal damnation.

We are living in the best time, we have Jesus to help lead us back to God. The people that lived before Christ didn't have the opportunity that we have. What a beautiful gift God gave us, a way out of our own darkness, a way to know truth, a way to receive the Holy Spirit forever, a way back to God and be in union with Him forever right here and now!

So, why live the worldly life that is so short and can only bring death? Jesus is the way to eternal life, joy, happiness, peace and total freedom from the bondages of this passing world. God gave us free will to choose, so, what's it going to be?

  What Can We Give God?
Posted by: ThomasLa - 03-05-2025, 03:52 AM - Forum: God - No Replies

Romans 11: 34-36, 'Who could ever know the mind of the Lord? Who could ever be His counsellor? Who could ever give Him anything or lend Him anything? All that exists comes from Him; all is by Him and for Him. To Him be glory for ever! Amen

There is only one thing that I can think of that we can give God, and that is our love. By serving Him, being righteous in His eyes and loving one another. God may own everything, after all, He created it, but He did gave us free will to choose to love Him or not. God is willing to share so much of what He has with us and all we have to do is love Him.

He can give us peace, joy, happiness, true freedom and everlasting eternal life if only we would love Him. It is difficult to overcome our corrupt, carnal mind and body, but God gave us a way out, someone to help us, He sent His blessed Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus can lead us back to God, to receive the Holy Spirit forever and be in union with God our Father.

Jesus can help us to overcome the things that darken our minds, hearts and souls and bring us into the light. He will teach us how to change our thought process, and modify our behavior so that we can be purified and enjoy a loving and everlasting relationship with God.

Forget the worldly things that only bring temporary happiness and receive everlasting joy, happiness, peace and true freedom that can only come from God.

  What Keeps Us Divided?
Posted by: JCPNJ - 03-05-2025, 03:25 AM - Forum: Christian Life - Replies (1)

Luke 11:17, 'Every kingdom divided against itself is heading for ruin, and a household divided against itself collapses.'

Here we have a country that has been consistently being divided instead of working together. Whether it is the party system in politics, or race, or religion or any matter that has opposing sides that can't work together.

When you have a family and the parents get a divorce, it divides the family and causes devastating affects to the each member of the family. There is a loss of family structure, security, stability and a certain relationship that they had together.

When people can't work together, it causes a division between them. Nothing positive can then be accomplished because of the resentments, anger, hatred or other negativity that has arised from people's pride. This is typical human nature. Corrupt as our human nature may be, without the guidance of God in our lives and our country, this will always be. We will continue to see families, communities and our nation fall to ruins.

Isaiah 10:1-4, 'Woe to the legislators of infamous laws, to those who issue tyrannical decrees, who refuse justice to the unfortunate and cheat the poor among my people of their rights, who make widows their prey and rob the orphan. What will you do on the day of punishment, when, from far off, destruction comes? To whom will you run for help? Where will you leave your riches? Nothing for it but to crouch with the captives and to fall with the slain. Yet His anger is not spent, still his hand is raised to strike.'

Do you politicians think that you can get away with robbing the people of your city, county, state, or country without some type of punishment coming back to you? It may not be in this lifetime, but judgment is coming for you! God is a fair and loving god and He does not appreciate it when His hard working children are being taken advantage of and being robbed (whether it would be from your wasteful spending, mismanagement of funds, unjust laws and so on), of what is rightfully theirs only to feed your selfishness and greed.

So, go ahead and enjoy what you have now, that you stole off the backs of people who put their trust in you to do the right thing, to watch out for the welfare of the people that hired you. Where is your heart? Has it turned dark and cold? Look at the misery that you have caused for millions of people and future generations. You may think that everything is going great for you now, but life here is short and there is no escaping the vengeance of God or judgment day.

Do You Believe In Life After Death?
Posted by: JCPNJ - 03-05-2025, 03:10 AM - Forum: Bible Scripture - No Replies

My neighbor, who I've known for 10 years, died in a bad car wreck back in 1976. She is 62 years old and lives with her 92 year old mother. She was dead for 5 minutes. She told me about her experience when she was dead. She first said that she up in the air looking down at her body. She then went on to tell me that she went through a tunnel that had a light at the end of it.

Upon entering the light, she said that she saw God, other people around her and she saw a beautiful garden. She felt so much peace and love while she was there, but she was told that she couldn't stay because it wasn't her time yet. She said that she did not want to leave because where she was so magnificent that there are not any words to describe it.

1. According to this scripture, we were spirit before we became flesh. Jeremiah 1:5, 'Before I formed thee in the bowels of thy mother, I knew thee: and before thou cameĀ forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and made thee a prophet unto the nations.'

2. Genesis 2:7, 'And the Lord God formed man of the slime of the earth and breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul.' I know from one of the supernatural experiences that I went through that there are two parts to us, the carnal (flesh) side and the spiritual (intellect and soul) side.

3. Genesis 6:3, God said, 'My spirit must not for ever be disgraced in man, for he is but flesh; his life shall last no more than a hundred and twenty years.' God is talking about the spirit and soul that He puts in each and every human being. It's apart of Him and it returns back to Him after death of the flesh.

In my opinion, I believe that what she is saying is true. I have always had the Lord in my heart. 22 years after about a 15 year bout with alcoholism, I called on Jesus to help me and come back into my life. Since then I have followed Him and built a beautiful relationship with Him.

I've had many supernatural experiences myself. I sought truth and it has been revealed to me over and over again, along with confirmations. So, I have no doubt that there is another life waiting for us when the time comes. One that is free from suffering and pain.

Repent and call on Jesus Christ
