What Reward Is There In Loving Someone That Loves You Back?
Posted by: WalterH75 - 01-21-2025, 02:43 AM - Forum: Christian Life - No Replies

Matthew 5:44, Jesus says, 'Love your enemies: do good to them that hate you: and pray for them that persecute and slander you: That you may be the children of your Father who is in heaven, who makes the sun to rise upon the good, and bad, and rain upon the just and the unjust.'

For if you love them that love you, what reward shall you have? Do not even the tax collectors do this? And if you salute your brethren only, what do you more? Do not also the heathens do this?

By doing good to those that you may consider your enemies shows your true love to all mankind just as God does. God does love us all. Each of us has the opportunity to repent and turn our backs on iniquity and hate. By praying for your enemies, you just may be able to turn them into friends. This is one thing that makes a true Christian, a person that can love their enemy no matter what they may do.

Greet your enemy with love, don't try to avoid them. How can you help them if you don't show your love for them? God's love is unconditional and so should ours be. Drop the created love and be clothed with the uncreated love of God.

Do We Sparkle On The Outside Yet Inside Is Corrupt?
Posted by: Jeremiah17:7 - 01-21-2025, 02:13 AM - Forum: Christian Life - No Replies

Luke 20:45-47, While all the people were listening Jesus said to the disciples, 'Beware of the scribes who like to walk about in long robes and love to be greeted obsequiously in the market squares, to take the front seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at the banquets, who swallow the property of widows, while making a show of lengthy prayers. The more severe will be the sentence they receive.'

It's not right for anyone to draw attention to themselves in order to be in the spotlight. Anyone who does this has a severe problem with their pride and are totally insecure about themselves. To try and show people that you are so Holy or that you deserve to be put on a pedestal is something that God does not tolerate.

No one is better than the next person. No one is holier than another. We must not think this or we will be put in our place. No one needs to notice the good deeds we do or we need not tell another what we have done.

As Jesus states in Matthew 23:27,28, 'Alas for you, Scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You who are like whitewashed tombs that look handsome on the outside, but inside are full of dead men's bones and every kind of corruption. In the same way you appear to people from the outside like good honest men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.'

God sees all that men do in their life. We need to do our good deeds and prayers in secrecy. It doesn't matter what others may think about you, what matters is how God sees you. Does He see you as a prideful, hypocrite or as a righteous, upstanding person?

How Does One Become A Disciple of Jesus Christ?
Posted by: Jeremiah17:7 - 01-21-2025, 01:49 AM - Forum: Jesus Christ - No Replies

'Luke 14:26, 'If any man comes to me without hating his father, mother, wife, children, brothers, sisters, yes and his own life too, he cannot be my disciple.'

The word "Hate - hating", translated in Greek means to love less. It's important to check exactly what the word means from time to time because it may have different meanings that what we know in English.

We have to put God first and of course Jesus because we cannot go to God except through Him. Our love needs to be directed towards Jesus in order to follow Him. The road is long, narrow and laborious and we have to prove our love for Him by trusting in Him.

Jesus is going to teach us the things we need to know and overcome so that we can be purified and be in union once again with God. This is how we can acquire and be filled with the unconditional love of God which then we will be able to love everyone equally, just as God and Jesus does.

Luke14:27, 'Anyone who does not carry his cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.'

Accept Jesus Christ in your heart, pick up your cross and follow Him. He has a long journey prepared just for you and at the end, you will need your cross to nail your flesh to. Jesus is going to teach you and show you what you need to overcome. He will help you prepare your soul for purification in order to receive the Spirit of Truth (John 14:15-17).

Luke 14:33, 'So in the same way, none of you can be my disciple unless he gives up all his possessions.'

This scripture has stopped many people in their tracks. How much baggage can one take with them when they are traveling this long, narrow path while carrying a cross? The whole point of the scripture is, What do you love the most, Jesus or your possessions? What fills your heart?

This Is Some Of The Best News You Could Ever Hear!
Posted by: Jeremiah17:7 - 01-21-2025, 01:35 AM - Forum: Jesus Christ - No Replies

1John 1:3, 'What we have seen and heard we are telling you so that you too may be in union with us, as we are in union with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.'

How great is that? Because of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us and to bring glory to God, we are able to go back to God through Jesus and be in union with Him once again. When Jesus died on the cross, God rent the veil to the Holy of Holies which means that everyone who accepts Jesus Christ can follow Him and He will lead you back to God so that you can be in union with Him forever.

So what are you waiting for? Get on the road (if you already haven't) with Jesus because He is the Way, the Truth and Life. Thank you God for sending Jesus and Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice and leading us back to God.

God Sent His Son Jesus and He Was Rejected By Many
Posted by: Jeremiah17:7 - 01-21-2025, 01:29 AM - Forum: Jesus Christ - No Replies

Psalm 118:22-24, 'It was the stone rejected by the builders that proved to be the keystone; this is God's doing and it is wonderful to see. This is the day made memorable by God, what immense joy for us!'

When Jesus started His ministry and all the time that He taught before His death, He was rejected by many. To this day He is still being rejected by many.

For those that accept Jesus, He is their keystone. He is what many have built upon and created a solid structure that could withstand any attack by their enemies. The day that Jesus died on the cross was and still is a day of joy for many and also for those that find Him.

You can have your day of joy by calling on Jesus Christ and accepting Him into your heart. Why let your enemies get the best of you? The main enemy is Death. Find life in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

  Who Is God To You?
Posted by: Jeremiah17:7 - 01-21-2025, 01:17 AM - Forum: God - No Replies

If it wasn't for God, I don't know where I would be today. Because of His love and compassion, He sacrificed His blessed Son for us so that we can have eternal life. Jesus showed me the Way back to God. I was a worldly person once, only slaving for the things of the world, constantly seeking happiness in the world that doesn't last. Now I know how foolish I was.

Thanks to God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, the world is no longer a burden to me. God has blessed me with the things that last forever. No one can take them away. Thank you God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit for your love, kindness and caring about a wretch like me.

So, think about it; "Who Is God To You?"

Purify Your Soul and Receive The Spirit of Truth
Posted by: Jeremiah17:7 - 01-21-2025, 12:40 AM - Forum: Holy Spirit - No Replies

Romans 13:14, 'Let your armor be the Lord Jesus Christ; forget about satisfying your bodies with all their cravings.'

Our soul is much more important to care for than the wants of the carnal mind and body. Our soul is eternal, our body only has a little time. Jesus Christ will help us to learn how to overcome the things of the flesh, the things that corrupt our soul. He will show us and teach us these things, but it's up to you personally to build that one on one relationship with Him.

Jesus is the Way back to God. He will help us to purify ourselves so that He can give us the Spirit of Truth to be with us forever (John 14:15-17). With the Spirit of Truth you will see how insignificant the things of the world are compared to the things that the Holy Spirit brings (Galatians 5:22).

Why slave for the things of the world that don't last when you can work for the blessings of God that last forever?'

What Is More Valuable Than Gold and Silver?
Posted by: Jeremiah17:7 - 01-21-2025, 12:26 AM - Forum: Bible Scripture - No Replies

Proverbs 3:13-14, 'Happy the man who discovers wisdom, the man who gains discernment: gaining her is more rewarding than silver, more profitable than gold.'

Wisdom from God and the gift of discernment is so valuable, it will be with you forever, unlike gold and silver. You can only use gold and silver once and only to purchase an item. Wisdom is knowledge and experience that can be used over and over again. Discernment is the ability to see things clearly and being able to know truth.

Proverbs 3:15-18, 'She is beyond the price of pearls, nothing that you could covet is her equal. In her right hand is length of days; in her left hand is riches and honor. Her ways are delightful ways, her paths all lead to contentment. She is a tree of life for those who hold her fast, those who cling to her live happy lives.'

Gold and silver can't bring happiness that lasts, it only brings greed and a false sense of security. God can give everything that the world can't. The world brings death and God gives life. The world gives worries and fears and God gives happiness, joy and peace of mind. The world causes people to be a slave to it, but God gives freedom from its bondages.

  Can You Trust Your Friends?
Posted by: Jeremiah17:7 - 01-21-2025, 12:14 AM - Forum: Christian Life - No Replies

Ecclesiasticus 12:9, 'When a man is doing well his enemies are sad, when he is doing badly, even a friend will keep his distance.'

You can really find out who your true friends are when you become distressed or need help with something. Some will be right there for you while others won't call to see how you are doing, or they will make an excuse so they don\'t have to help you.

You can notice this by their attitude when you ask them for help. You can also tell if you fall on hard times and they shy away from you or like the scripture says, 'keep his distance'.

You can't always rely on friends, but as long as you have faith and Trust God, He will always be there for you.

Happy Those Who Keep My Ways!
Posted by: Jeremiah17:7 - 01-20-2025, 11:54 PM - Forum: God - No Replies

Proverbs 8:34-36, 'Happy the man who listens to me, who day after day watches at my gates to guard the portals. For the man who finds me finds life, he will win favor from God; but he who does injury to Me does hurt to his own soul, all who hate Me are in love with death.

Life here is short, but if you love God and adhere to His ways, He will give you eternal life. His ways are full of peace, joy, love and freedom from the bondages of this world. Why let this world govern your life? This world can only offer temporary happiness, stress, misery and death.

Seek God and His love and blessings will be poured out upon you.
