  Trust God Through Tough Times
Posted by: Matthew245 - 12-17-2025, 04:18 PM - Forum: Bible Scripture - No Replies

Ecclesiasticus 2:1-6, 'My son, if you aspire to serve the Lord, prepare yourself for an ordeal. Be sincere of heart, be steadfast, and do not be alarmed when disaster comes. Cling to Him and do not leave Him, so that you may be honored at the end of your days.

Whatever happens to you, accept it, and in the uncertainties of your humble state, be patient, since gold has been tested in the fire, and chosen men in the furnace of humiliation. Trust Him and He will uphold you, follow a straight path and hope in Him.

In this scripture, God is telling us that test and trials will be coming our way. Some of them are not going to be pleasant but, God gives these to us as learning experiences. We need to accept these tests and trials with a kind of joy because they will cause us to grow in faith, love, endurance, strength, humility and having a positive outlook instead of a negative one like our nature wants us to.

These tests and trials can have such a positive impact on our life that we will be able to manage anything that comes our way. We will be able to handle them with ease. I need to mention that in time, we won't suffer from stress anymore. Stress is one of those negative emotions that can cause all kinds of health problems both physically and mentally.

So, when you are going through a tough time, remember that the Lord will be there with you to help you get through it in a positive way, but only if you have faith and trust in Him.

  Ascension of Jesus Christ
Posted by: Cliff57 - 12-06-2025, 09:52 PM - Forum: Jesus Christ - No Replies

What about the ascension of Jesus Christ? You rarely hear anyone mention it, although it is one of the most important things that happen involving the resurrection of Jesus.

Jesus needed to ascend to heaven so that we could receive the Holy Spirit. So, the next time you are asked if you believe in Jesus you should say, Yes, I believe that He was born, and He was crucified on the cross, died for our sins, was buried in a tomb and on the third day, He was resurrected and ascended into heaven.

It's the ascended part that people usually leave out.

Positive or a Negative Attitude and Addiction
Posted by: WalterH75 - 04-05-2025, 07:50 PM - Forum: Addiction - No Replies

A Positive or a Negative Attitude Can Affect Your Recovery From Addiction

There is a positive and a negative side to our emotions and they can affect how we feel, act, think and cause us to be towards others.\n\nPositive Emotions: Affection, Empathy, Gratitude, Happiness, Hope, Love

Negative Emotions: Anger, Anxiety, Bored, Depression, Despair, Disappointment, Envy, Fear, Frustration, Guilt, Hatred, Jealousy, Loneliness, Misery, Pride, Rage, Sadness, Shame, Sorrow, Suffering, Worry.

1. Being positive or negative can influence your life.
2. Being positive or negative can affect you personally.
3. Being positive or negative can affect others.

Being positive can bring you happiness, empathy towards others, being grateful for all things, hope, the ability to show affection towards others, build good relationships with others and being able to love.

Being negative can cause all sorts of problems in your daily life. Answer this question, "What are the people like that live in your area?"

If you see the people in your area as mean, nasty, rude, inconsiderate and self-centered then you are seeing people in a negative way. Just by seeing people this way can cause a person's whole outlook on things to be in a negative way. Being this way can affect your relationships with people, how you convey yourself towards others, how others have an affect on you and your whole outlook on life.

Being negative can cause a person to have low self-esteem, experience a lot more stress, not have the ability to cope with problems when they arise, lacking the ability to handle relationships in a rational manner, to complain about everything, see things as a burden or a hassle, hatred, depression, self-pity, envy, worries, frustration, anger, fear, anxiety, disappointment, suffering, and misery.

When a person sees people as being good, kind, loving, helpful, and caring they are basically looking at themselves because this is the way that they see people. This is the way that they act and think, all in a positive way. They are the ones that can keep happiness in their life because they have a good outlook on life.

The boss could overload them with work, but it doesn't bother them because they accept it without a grudge and get it done, or they could get a flat tire without getting mad, they accept it, fix it and move on. These are the people who have patience, who accomplish their goals, get things done, solve problems that arise in their life, all with a positive attitude.

Without having a positive attitude, recovering from addiction is going to be a difficult process and your chances of a relapse is going to be much greater. Having a positive attitude when it comes to accomplishing tasks, makes getting them done go a whole lot smoother and it will benefit you in a much better way. It's all in how you look at things as to how it is going to affect you. You have the power to make each and every moment of your life happy and stress free or you can make your day a living hell.

A positive attitude towards people, places and things can keep you calm as the water in a pond, but a negative attitude can have your insides as rough as a stormy ocean. Throw a pebble into a pond and watch how the ripples roll out, these are like vibrations that you send out whether you have a positive or a negative attitude. They touch the people around you and they can feel it. The vibrations that you send out will attract either positive or negative people towards you.

Negativity can cause problems in a person's life. It has no value and it causes many burdens on one's life and relationships with others. Being positive leads to a much happier life, it accomplishes goals and can keep one sound in body, mind and soul.

Trust in God - Not Man or Yourself
Posted by: HaveFaith - 03-07-2025, 12:00 AM - Forum: God - No Replies

In the Bible there are scriptures that warn us about putting our trust in man or even ourselves: Proverbs 28:26, He who trusts in his own promptings is a fool, he whose ways are wise will be safe.

Jeremiah 17:5, 'A curse on the man who puts his trust in man, who relies on things of the flesh, whose heart turns from God.

II Corinthians 1:9, Yes, we were carrying our own death warrant with us, and it has taught us not to rely on ourselves but only on God.

If we follow or trust in man or our own selves, We will surely die if we depend on our own precepts or follow and trust in man.

Follow in God's ways and you will find peace, happiness, joy and freedom from the bondages of this passing world.

May God Be With You Always

  The Cleansing of the Temple
Posted by: HaveFaith - 03-06-2025, 11:47 PM - Forum: Holy Spirit - Replies (1)

When Jesus saw the corruption that was going on in the temple of God, He went about ridding the sanctuary of all those people who were committing sins against God. (John 2:13-17)

Our bodies are temples because they house our soul. By human nature, we corrupt our souls with all kinds sins that are abominations in the eyes of God. We need Jesus Christ to teach us what we need to do to cleanse our temples (Read Galatians 5:19-23).

Once we do this, we can receive the Holy Spirit which will connect us to God. We can't be unholy and holy at the same time, it's one or the other. Call on Jesus and let Him show you the Way.

Forgive and You Will Be Forgiven
Posted by: HaveFaith - 03-06-2025, 11:38 PM - Forum: God - No Replies

Matthew 6:14,15, 'Yes, if you forgive others their failings, your heavenly Father will forgive you yours; but if you do not forgive others, your Father will not forgive your failings either.'

No one is "Perfect". People are going to hurt one another in one form or another whether it be intentional or unintentional. We all have done something to another individual that if we really didn't mean it, we should be forgiven for that act from the individual that we harmed. But, what if we did mean it? Should we be forgiven for that as well?

Of course, as long as we try to make amends to that individual with a sincere heart, we will be forgiven even if the one we harmed still holds a resentment towards us. Remember though, as long as we have forgiven others for what they have done to us, we will also be forgiven.

It can be very difficult to forgive some people for what they have done to us, or to the ones that we love, or we can take to even a broader sense and include the people that we hate like, a nation, a race or a specific group of people.

If the individual(s) have passed on and you want to ask for forgiveness, speak to God with a contrite heart and you will be forgiven. God reads what's in the heart. The faster you seek forgiveness or give forgiveness to another, the more peaceful you will be inside. No resentments to make you angry and no guilt to burden you with.

This is a part of what God's pure love is all about. This is how we grow spiritually and prepare ourselves for the Kingdom of God.

When It's Too Late, It's Too Late!

Ephesians 4:17-19, 'In particular, I want to urge you in the name of the Lord, not to go on living the aimless kind of life that pagans live. Intellectually they are in the dark, and they are estranged from the life of God, without knowledge because they have shut their hearts to it. Their sense of right and wrong once dulled, they have abandoned themselves to sexuality and eagerly pursue a career of indecency of every kind.'

Does this look like the path that many in the United States and England has taken? Does it surprise you as to why these two nations are in such terrible shape? It's amazing as to how much patience God has, but if you look, you can see how He has been withdrawing His blessings and we are becoming a mockery to the other nations of the world.

The economy is in the dumps, the governments are lacking any kind of good leaders, violence is rampant and growing at a rapid pace, people are not respecting the law and so on.

You can avoid all this by living the life that God wants us to. Who in this world can possibly protect you? or help you with your needs? God can where man cannot. There is no one more powerful than God or anyone that you can truely trust. You can find all this out by seeking the Truth. Jesus is the way back to God, He is truth and life. All it takes is your desire to do what it says in the next set of scriptures.

Ephesians 4:22-24, 'You must give up your old way of life; you must put aside your old self, which gets corrupted by following illusory desires. Your mind must be renewed by a spiritual revolution so that you can put on the new self that has been created in God's way, in the goodness and holiness of the Truth.'

Don't wait until it's too late.

We All Know The Difference Between Right and Wrong
Posted by: ThomasLa - 03-05-2025, 04:13 AM - Forum: God - No Replies

Hebrews 8: 10-12, 'God said: 'I will put my laws into their minds and write them on their hearts. Then I will be their God and they shall be my people. There will be no further need for neighbor to try to teach neighbor, or brother to say to brother 'Learn to know the Lord'. No, they will all know me, the least no less than the greatest, since I will forgive their iniquities and never call their sins to mind.'

This is the new covenant which was created through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ so our sins may be forgiven and not just covered up.

Everyone knows the difference between right and wrong, either their heart or conscience will tell them. We have many choices to make on a daily basis. These choices include what we think about, how we behave and how we treat others.

Even though our thoughts may seem private to us, they will also be laid out on judgment day just as the things we did will be. It's important for us to think of positive things, to behave as God would like us to and to treat others with love, kindness and care.

'Learn to know the Lord' - Jesus is the one true High Priest that we have to build a relationship with in order learn Truth. He will teach us how to become righteous in the eyes of God so that we can be in union with Him once again.

Let's just try and live in Peace with one another and 'Love One Another' as God and Jesus speak about.

May God Bless You

  It's Your Choice
Posted by: ThomasLa - 03-05-2025, 04:03 AM - Forum: Christian Life - No Replies

Hebrews 3: 12, 'Take care, brothers, that there is not in any one of your community a wicked mind, so unbelieving as to turn away from the living God.'

The author of Hebrews (believed to be Paul), told this to the people at that time as a warning of what will happen to those that reject or turn away from God. The author was referring to what God had said to the Hebrews after the Exodus as it is written in Psalm 95: 10-11, 'For forty years that generation repelled me, until I said: How unreliable these people who refuse to grasp my ways! And so, in anger, I swore that not one would reach the place of rest I had for them.'

There isn't anything that can be added to that, God speaks very clearly about what happens to man that refuses to accept Him and His ways. It isn't that He is forcing us to, He is trying to help us from destroying ourselves. We lead our own selves to our fate, but if we choose to accept God and love Him as He loves us, we will be saved from eternal damnation.

We are living in the best time, we have Jesus to help lead us back to God. The people that lived before Christ didn't have the opportunity that we have. What a beautiful gift God gave us, a way out of our own darkness, a way to know truth, a way to receive the Holy Spirit forever, a way back to God and be in union with Him forever right here and now!

So, why live the worldly life that is so short and can only bring death? Jesus is the way to eternal life, joy, happiness, peace and total freedom from the bondages of this passing world. God gave us free will to choose, so, what's it going to be?
