Divine Love of God | Rejecting Jesus Christ | Keep My Commandments
The Divine Love of God
Divine love is the unconditional, and uncreated, eternal love that flows from God, going beyond human understanding and surrounding all beings. God created all things from this divine love and we need this love to purify us.
Divine love has the power to conquer all evil, it can destroy and purify at the same time. This divine love is the most beautiful love that you could ever experience in your life.
Jesus Gave Up His Life for Us–Don’t Reject Him
Salvation doesn’t end after repentance, it’s just the beginning of the work we have to do–it’s the beginning of a life long journey that involves surrendering ourselves to God and following Jesus. We need to seek the truth and stop keeping it imprisoned in our wickedness because we cannot make this journey alone.
A new life is beginning and it will be nothing like the life you were living, it’s the complete opposite. You are not in charge, you gave your life over to God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Listen to them, follow them and seek the kingdom of God and you will experience the truth.
A Call to Christian Living and its Reward
2 Peter 1:3-11, ‘By His divine power, He has given us all the things that we need for life and for true devotion, bringing us to know God Himself, who has called us by His own glory and goodness. In making these gifts, He has given us the guarantee of something very great and wonderful to come: through them you will be able to share the divine nature and to escape corruption in a world that is sunk in vice.
But to attain this, you will have to do your utmost yourselves, adding goodness to the faith that you have, understanding to your goodness, self-control to your understanding, patience to your self-control, true devotion to your patience, kindness towards your fellow men to your devotion, and, to this kindness, love.
If you have a generous supply of these, they will not leave you ineffectual or unproductive: they will bring you to a real knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But without them a man is blind or else short-sighted; he has forgotten how his past sins were washed away.
Brothers, you have been called and chosen: work all the harder to justify it. If you do all these things there is no danger that you will ever fall away. In this way you will be granted admittance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.’
Listen to Peter, you have been given the opportunity of a lifetime to save yourself from eternal damnation by accepting God’s offer to repent and believe in His Son, Jesus Christ. The bible is full of instructions on how to do this as well as following what God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit tells us what to do. Give your life over to them, it’s time to stop trying to govern your own life.
God Loves and Protects Those Who Trust in Him
Psalm 4:2-4, ‘You men, why shut your hearts so long, loving delusions, chasing after lies. Know this, Yahweh works wonders for those he loves, Yahweh hears me when I call to him. Tremble: give up sinning, spend your night in quiet meditation. Offer sacrifice in a right spirit, and trust Yahweh.’
Psalm 5:11-12, ‘But joy for all who take shelter in you, endless shouts of joy! Since you protect them, they exult in you, those who love your name. It is you who bless the virtuous man, Yahweh; your favor is like a shield covering him.’
Find shelter from evil in the arms of a loving God. Like the bible says in: Jeremiah 17:7,8, ‘A blessing on the man who puts his trust in Yahweh, with Yahweh for his hope. He is like a tree by the waterside that thrusts its roots to the stream: when the heat comes it feels no alarm, its foliage stays green; it has no worries in a year of drought, and never ceases to bear fruit.’
Proof of Protection For God’s Servants
There were three servants of God who refused to bow down and worship a statue in ancient Babylon. The penalty for failing to worship the statue was death. Just like in the book of Revelation. Daniel chapter 3 is where the whole story is.
Daniel 3:49-50, ‘But the angel of the Lord came down into the furnace beside Azariah and his companions; he drove the flames of the fire outwards, and fanned in to them, in the heart of the furnace, a coolness such as wind and dew will bring, so that the fire did not even touch them or cause them any pain or distress.
Daniel 3:93-94, ‘Nebuchadnezzar approached the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and shouted, ‘Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, servants of the Most High God,’ come out, come here!’ And from the heart of the fire out came Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.
The satraps, prefects, governors, and advisers of the king crowded round the three men to examine them: the fire had had no effect on their bodies: not a hair of their heads had been singed, their cloaks were not scorched, no smell of burning hung about them.
There have been many cases where executions have gone wrong because of God’s protection. Some that have gone wrong they were able to execute them but, in a different manner. For instance, they tried to burn Polycarp at the stake but, the fire wouldn’t burn him, so they had to stab him. They tried to boil the Apostle John in oil but, God saved him.
The Problem With Created Love
Matthew 24:11-13, ‘Many false prophets will arise; they will deceive many, and with the increase of lawlessness, love in most men will grow cold; but the man who stands firm to the end will be saved.’
Created love can grow cold in people as the negative things in one’s life takes over. This kind of love is weak because it has a counterpart called hate. Love and hate in the carnal life will always be a choice in one’s life that has not yet overcome the flesh.
It takes Jesus to show us what causes us to do the things that we shouldn’t be doing, the things that keeps us separated from God.
If we be still and listen, He will tell us what we need to do. We cannot do this alone, Jesus is the Way and the Truth, without Him we are lost. We get lost because we listen to ourselves and not the Lord.
There is Great Power in the Divine Love of God
Matthew 5:43-47, ‘You have learnt how it was said: ‘You must love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say this to you: ‘love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you; in this way you will be sons of your Father in heaven, for he causes his sun to rise on bad men as well as good, and his rain to fall on honest and dishonest men alike’.
For if you love those who love you, what right have you to claim any credit? Even the tax collectors do as much, do they not? And if you save your greetings for your brothers, are you doing anything exceptional?’
Matthew 6:24, ‘No one can be the slave of two masters: he will either hate the first and love the second, or treat the first with respect and the second with scorn. You cannot be the slave both of God and of money.’
Matthew 22:37-39, ‘Jesus said, ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second resembles it: You must love your neighbor as yourself.’
God’s will for us is to reconnect ourselves with Him and we can’t do this without Jesus and the Holy Spirit. John 14:6, ‘Jesus said:
‘I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through me’.’
We Need Jesus and the Holy Spirit
This is why you need to build a relationship with Jesus and this is why He says: Matthew 16:24-25, ‘Then Jesus said to his disciples, ‘If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him renounce himself and take up his cross and follow me. For anyone who wants to save his life will lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it’.’
We owe this world nothing, so why are we a slave to it?, because we are fools. We look to the world for everything and ignore God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Oh Yea, sometimes we seek God, but only when tragedy strikes and mainly when He’s our last resort.
So, why don’t we dump this world and put God first? Wouldn’t it be better to put our life in His hands then to give it up to a world that has no value, that’s nothing but vanity? A world that only brings misery and death? God can give us life for eternity, a life full of peace, joy and happiness, right?
Ok, so what’s wrong with us? Why do we still choose the things of the world over God’s divine love and everlasting eternal life? Could it be that we are too attached to the world that we don’t want to give up the things that we desire and seek pleasure in? Seek the Glory of God, it’s everlasting not temporary.
The Flesh Causes Blindness
Isaiah 5:20-24, ‘Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil, who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness, who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Woe to those who think themselves wise and believe themselves cunning. Woe to the heroes of drinking bouts, to the champions at preparing strong drinks. Woe to those who for a bribe acquit the guilty and cheat the good man of his due.
For this, as stubble is prey for the flame and as straw vanishes in the fire, so their root will rot, their blossom be carried off like dust, for rejecting the Law of Yahweh Sabaoth, and despising the word of the Holy One of Israel.
John 12:46-48, ‘I, the light, have come into the world, so that whoever believes in me need not stay in the dark any more. If anyone hears my words and does not keep them faithfully, it is not I who shall condemn him, since I have come not to condemn the world, but to save the world: he who rejects me and refuses my words has his judge already: the word itself that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day.’
Do you see what happens to those that reject Jesus Christ and the Word of God? There are many people who have rejected God and Jesus that are already condemned. John 3:18, ‘No one who believes in him will be condemned; but whoever refuses to believe is condemned already, because he has refused to believe in the name of God’s only Son.
The Earth and its Inhabitants Suffer the Penalty
Isaiah 24:6, ‘So a curse consumes the earth and its inhabitants suffer the penalty, that is why the inhabitants of the earth are burnt up and few men are left.’
Isaiah 33:10-14, ‘Now I stand up, says Yahweh now I rise to my full height. You have conceived chaff, you will give birth to straw, my breath shall devour you like fire. The peoples will be reduced to lime, like cut thorns they will be burnt in the fire.
You who are far away, listen to what I have done, and you who are near, realize my strength. Sinners in Zion are struck with horror and fear seizes on the godless. Which of us can live with this devouring fire, which of us exist in everlasting flames?’
A Blessing For Those Who Are Honest and Has Integrity
Isaiah 33:15-16, ‘He who acts with integrity, who speaks sincerely and rejects extortionate profit, who waves away bribes from his hands, shuts suggestions of murder out of his ears and closes his eyes against crime; this man will dwell in the heights, he will find refuge in a citadel built on rock, bread will be given him, he shall not want for water.’
This next scripture will explain why you will not have a want for water. These two scriptures are around 290 years apart.
Fountains of Living Water Shall Flow
John 7:37-39, ‘On the last day and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood there and cried out: ‘If any man is thirsty, let him come to me!? Let the man come and drink who believes in me!’ As scripture says: ‘From his breast shall flow fountains of living water.’
He was speaking of the Spirit which those who believed in him were to receive; for there was no Spirit as yet because Jesus had not yet been glorified.’
Jesus tells us again that we need to follow Him in order to be reconnected to God. There are many things we have to learn and do as Jesus shows us the way and teaches us truth. We need to overcome our wickedness that keeps us disconnected from God and also from receiving the Holy Spirit to be with us forever as Jesus tells us in:
John 14:15-17, ‘If you love me you will keep my commandments. I shall ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you for ever, that Spirit of truth whom the world can never receive since it neither sees nor knows him; but you know him, because he is with you, he is in you.’
Receiving the Divine Love of God
Once you receive the Divine Love of God, there will be no more hate in you for your fellow man. You will love everyone as God and Jesus loves you.
Jesus tells us in John 13:34-35, ‘I give you a new commandment: love one another; just as I have loved you, you also must love one another. By this love you have for one another, everyone will know that you are my disciples.’
