Seventh Day Sabbath | Trust Yahweh | Six Days

Seventh Day Sabbath | God’s Creation

Seventh Day Sabbath | God's Creation | Six Days | Trust Yahweh

God’s Creation and the Seventh Day

Genesis 2:1-4, ‘Thus heaven and earth were completed with all their array. On the seventh day God completed the work he had been doing. He rested on the seventh day after all the work he had been doing. God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on that day he had rested after all his work of creating. Such were the origins of heaven and earth when they were created.’

See God in His Creation

Romans 1:20, ‘Ever since God created the world his everlasting power and deity—however invisible—have been there for the mind to see in the things he has made.

God Commands Us to Keep the Seventh Day Holy

Exodus 20:8-11, ‘Remember the sabbath day and keep it holy. For six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the “Seventh Day” is a Sabbath for Yahweh your God. You shall do no work that day, neither you nor your son nor your daughter nor your servants, men or women, nor your animals nor the stranger who lives with you.

For in six days Yahweh made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that these hold, but on the seventh day he rested; that is why Yahweh has blessed the Sabbath day and made it sacred.’

No Excuse For Not Keeping God’s Commandments

1 John 2:3-5, ‘We can be sure that we know God only by keeping his commandments. Anyone who says, ‘I know him’, and does not keep his commandments, is a liar, refusing to admit the truth. But when anyone does obey what he has said, God’s love comes to perfection in him.’

Romans 1:20-21, ‘That is why such people are without excuse: * they knew God and yet refused to honor him as God or to thank him instead, they made nonsense out of logic and their empty minds were darkened.

Why do people make the Sabbath out to be like some kind of disease or something, or even a curse. Is it really that bad that we can’t take the time to worship God and honor Him on the Sabbath day? After all God has done for us surely we can take one day a week to rest, rejuvenate our bodies, minds, souls and spirits on this day.

Sabbath is For Man

Mark 2:27, ‘Jesus declares, ‘The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So, the Son of Man is master even of the Sabbath’.’

Jesus Kept the Seventh Day Sabbath

Luke 4:16, ‘He came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day as he usually did.’

The Sabbath day is for us to rest from all the things that we deal with in world. It is meant for us to rest our bodies and minds from the stress that our daily lives bring us. We should worship God and honor Him in all His creation. Keep from participating in worldly activities. Spend time with God’s word and refresh our spirit and soul. You will be much happier keeping the Sabbath.

Paul Says to Keep the Commandments

1 Corinthians 7:19, ‘because to be circumcised or uncircumcised means nothing: what does matter is to “keep the commandments
of God”.’

Paul declares that we need to keep the commandments of God, which includes the seventh day Sabbath.

Colossians 2:16, ‘ From now onwards, never let anyone else decide what you should eat or drink, or whether you are to observe annual festivals, New Moons or sabbaths.’

In this scripture, Paul is not telling us that we don’t have to keep the seventh day Sabbath, but that we could decide for ourselves if we want to observe annual festivals, New Moons or sabbaths. If he meant that we don’t have to keep the seventh day Sabbath, then he would be contradicting himself in the last scripture that he wrote (1 Corinthians 7:19). You can’t keep God’s commandments if you don’t keep them all.

The Seventh Day Sabbath Being Kept Even in Revelation

Revelation 14:12, ‘This is why there must be constancy in the saints who keep the commandments of God and faith in Jesus.’

Matthew 24:20, ‘Pray that you will not have to escape in winter or on a Sabbath.’

Jesus Didn’t Come to Abolish the Law

Matthew 5:18, ‘Do not imagine that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete them. I tell you solemnly, till heaven and earth disappear, not one dot, not one little stroke, shall disappear from the Law until its purpose is achieved. Therefore, the man who infringes even one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be considered the least in the kingdom of heaven; but the man who keeps them and teaches them will be considered great in the kingdom of heaven.’

Anyone who teaches that it is not necessary to keep the fourth commandment which is the “Seventh Day Sabbath” will be considered the least in the kingdom of heaven. This will not go easy on those who is not teaching truth. The ones that listen to them and does not seek the truth will be held accountable too. Read on:

Blessed is He Who Trusts God Cursed is the Man Who Doesn’t

In Jeremiah 17:5-6, ‘Yahweh says this: ‘A curse on the man who puts his trust in man, who relies on things of flesh, whose heart turns from Yahweh. He is like dry scrub in the wastelands: if good comes, he has no eyes for it, he settles in the parched places of the wilderness, a salt land, uninhabited.’

Jeremiah 17:7-8, ‘A blessing on the man who puts his trust in Yahweh, with Yahweh for his hope. He is like a tree by the waterside that thrusts its roots to the stream: when the heat comes it feels no alarm, its foliage stays green; it has no worries in a year of drought, and never ceases to bear fruit.’

We long to be set free from the body and yearn for the hour that the Lord Jesus Christ returns for us. The comfort that the Holy Spirit brings and the happiness that observing the Sabbath is the best. The world has nothing that could compare to the comfort and peace that comes from God.

Draw Nearer to God By Keeping His Seventh Day Sabbath

Ezekiel 20:20, ‘Keep my sabbaths holy; let them be a sign between me and you, so that men may learn that I am Yahweh your God.’

Isaiah 58:13, ‘If you refrain from trampling the sabbath, and doing business on the holy day, if you call the sabbath ‘Delightful’,
and the day sacred to Yahweh ‘Honorable’, if you honor it by abstaining from travel, from doing business and from gossip, then shall you find your “Happiness” in Yahweh.’ Also read Isaiah 56:1-7

Seek the Truth for yourself, we are obligated to do so. God said, ‘ blessed be the man who puts his trust in me and not man. I did and found the truth about keeping the Seventh Day Sabbath.

After seeking the truth about the Sabbath 12 years ago, God sent me to Isaiah 56:1-7 and that was enough truth for me. I started observing the Seventh Day Sabbath from there on. If you’re interested in growing spiritually and nearer to God, then seek the truth. It’s one thing to know truth, but to understand truth, it takes experience.

May God Bless You and May You Find Truth
