The First Sin Committed – The Serpent Lies to Eve
Genesis 3:1-7, ‘The serpent was the most subtle of all the wild beasts that Yahweh God had made. It asked the woman, ‘Did God really say you were not to eat from any of the trees in the garden?’ The woman answered the serpent, ‘We may eat the fruit of the trees in the garden. But of the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden God said, ‘You must not eat it, nor touch it, under pain of death’.
Then the serpent said to the woman, ‘No! You will not die! God knows in fact that on the day you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like gods, knowing good and evil.’
The woman saw that the tree was good to eat and pleasing to the eye, and that it was desirable for the knowledge that it could give. So she took some of its fruit and ate it. She gave some also to her husband who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened and they realized that they were naked. So they sewed fig-leaves together to make themselves loin-cloths.’
The First Time Man Disobeyed God
The first sin committed was in the garden of Eden by Eve and then Adam. This was the first time man disobeyed God and now they are going to find out how devastating the consequences of their actions are going to be. They are only going to see what happens up to the 900+ years that they lived, but those that are living in this present time can look at what has been recorded from those times forward and see the devastation that came from that first sin.
One major event that happened occurred when God found only one righteous man in the world and that was Noah. So God told Noah to build an Ark because He was going to destroy every living creature on the earth. It took Noah 120 years to build the Ark and in that time God gave man a chance to repent, but none did. Only Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives and all the creatures that God had told Noah to put on the Ark survived the great flood.
God’s Promise
After that event, God promised not to flood the earth with water again and He gave us a rainbow as a sign. Although, in the end, as prophesied, He will destroy the world with fire. Again, God is being patient with mankind to turn away from their evil ways and repent or else.
God is very clear about what is going to happen in the end times, it is written in the book of Revelation as well as in Daniel and numerous places throughout the bible. Jesus is coming back like a thief in the night. What about your end time?, will you be ready? Unfortunately, most people won’t be ready whether it is in their end time or the end time written in Revelation. Just remember, your next breath is not guaranteed.
Repent and Confess Your Sins
Proverbs 28:13, ‘He who conceals his faults will not prosper, he who confesses and renounces them will find mercy.’
It is very important that you acknowledge your sins and confess them to God and another human being (one that you can trust). Read about it in James, 1 John and also here: Forgiven Us Our Sins | Forgive Them | Sinners to Repentance
From a Spiritual Nature to a Carnal Nature
When Adam and Eve partook of the Fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil they instantly lost their spiritual nature by losing the Holy Spirit. Their spiritual eyes closed and their carnal eyes opened. Now, they can see what is good and what is evil. We may not know what it was like for them when they were spiritual and lived in the garden, but we know what it is like to live outside the garden of Eden.
God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit will help us and show us how to overcome sin and our flesh so that we can take on a spiritual nature that will prepare us for everlasting eternal life and not a second death. Don’t let the opportunity to be saved in Christ Jesus pass you by, it’s the only chance you have to avoid the second death.
Our Sinful Nature – Blinded By Pride
When we are born, we are born with the original sin which is “Pride”. We will grow up committing sins that we are not even aware that we are committing some of them. Luke 23:34, Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them; they do not know what they are doing’. Because in Jeremiah 17:9, ‘The heart is more devious than any other thing, perverse (wicked) too: who can pierce its secrets?’ Who knows what is hidden in the hearts of man?
Proverbs 8:13, ‘(To fear Yahweh is to hate evil.) I (God) hate pride and arrogance, wicked behavior and a lying mouth.’
When we are guided by our pride we our hate dominates our love. We are more negative in our thoughts and emotions then we are positive. We can be easily offended, complain, get angry, or suffer from worries, fears and doubts. Also, break the Ten Commandments.
Lose Pride By Practicing Humility
James 4:6, ‘But he has been even more generous to us, as scripture says: God opposes the proud but he gives generously to the humble.’
The way to peace and joy is by practicing humility Pride Feeds The Flesh While Humility Feeds The Souland you get that by overcoming yourself, your sinful nature. You gain humility by losing your life and taking on the life of Jesus Christ. Pick up your cross daily and follow Him.
How Powerful is Just One Sin?
That one sin committed by Adam and Eve turned God’s entire creation into the most devastating wrong that could ever happen. That sin caused Adam and Eve to lose their connection with God because they Lost His Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit, death came upon them. No more everlasting eternal life.
By committing that sin, it caused evil to enter into the world. The universe started to decay, stars started dying, and the earth started decaying. Death came upon all of God’s creation, not just human beings.
The World Came to Know Good and Evil
Look at the evil and violence that exists in the world. Have you ever noticed how violent the animal kingdom is? It’s not a pretty site. But, I must admit that what happens in the animal kingdom is no where near as bad, wicked and evil as mankind can be.
Ever since man had fallen, man started his evil ways beginning with Cain murdering his brother Abel. From there on, you can look at the history of man and see the evil practices that have taken place and only by starting out by committing one sin. Man’s heart is wicked and evil.
You can read in the Old Testament about some of the Kings and the atrocities that they practiced. One of the biggest wrongs they did was they killed the prophets who were sent by God to warn the people to stop worshipping other gods, repent and come back to God. But, they didn’t listen and look what happened, serious consequences soon followed.
One Man With One Idea
Adolph Hitler got one idea in mind to create the ultimate race of German people, a perfect people. Once he got into control and set everything up, off they went. They started rounding up Jews, people who were not mentally stable, homosexuals, anyone who made him feel threatened, anyone that couldn’t be productive and others.
Concentration camps were built all over and these people that Hitler felt they didn’t fit into his plan were sent to these camps and exterminated. We all know how this part of history went and ended. This is just one instance of one man committing one sin and of course he committed more then one sin but, look at how that one thought started out from his pride and grew.
Sin’s Birth and Growth
This is from James 1:14-15, ‘Everyone who is tempted is attracted and seduced by his own wrong desire. Then the desire conceives and gives birth to sin, and when sin is fully grown, it too has a child, and the child is death.’
See the relationship between this scripture and Hitler’s idea? His desire to have a perfect race of people caused massive genocide and evil beyond man’s imagination. No one saw this coming or could even believe it when told by witnesses.
You can look at man’s atrocities from today and all the way back to Adam and Eve. One thing for sure, it’s not going to end until Jesus returns and when He does, look out because the wrath of God will be close behind Him.
God Offers Life While the World Offers Death
Jeremiah 17:5-6, ‘Yahweh says this: ‘A curse on the man who puts his trust in man, who relies on things of flesh, whose heart turns from Yahweh. He is like dry scrub in the wastelands; if good comes, he has no eyes for it, he settles in the parched places of the wilderness, a salt land, uninhabited.’
1 John 2:15-16, ‘ You must not love this passing world or anything that is in the world. The love of the Father cannot be in any man who loves the world, because nothing the world has to offer—the sensual body, the lustful eye, pride in possessions—’ could ever come from the Father but only from the world.’
James 1:13-15, ‘Never, when you have been tempted, say, ‘God sent the temptation’; God cannot be tempted to do anything wrong, and he does not tempt anybody. Everyone who is tempted is attracted and seduced by his own wrong desire. Then the desire conceives and gives birth to sin, and when sin is fully grown, it too has a child, and the child is death.’
Romans 6:23, ‘For the wage paid by sin is death; the present given by God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.’
God gave us a way to salvation and eternal life, by believing on His Son, Jesus Christ and living a life like Jesus. Jesus said, ‘ I give you a new commandment: love one another; just as I have loved you, you also must love one another.’
God Gives Man a Choice to Live or Die
Jeremiah 17:7 ‘A blessing on the man who puts his trust in Yahweh, with Yahweh for his hope.’
Until we give our life up to follow Jesus and learn about sin and how to overcome them, we may be looking at a second death when we die. Jesus died on the cross so that we may be forgiven for our sins and live forever.
The sting of death will not touch those that are obedient and faithful to God, but it will touch those that reject His blessed Son, Jesus Christ. You do not want to suffer the wrath of God.
The Righteousness of Jesus Christ
God gave His only begotten Son to be a sacrifice for our sins. Jesus took on the sins of the world so we may be forgiven of them and to take on the righteousness that is needed to be with God and not suffer in the second death. God wants everyone to be saved, but not everyone will accept to follow His Son, Jesus Christ. So sad!
John 3:16, ‘Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not be lost but may have eternal life.’
